Employee Resource Groups
Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) play a key role in fostering a more inclusive workplace by strengthening camaraderie and building allyship across diverse groups. Our ERGs are integral to enhancing our workplace culture. Participation is voluntary. ERGs are open to all employees, and some choose to join more than one.

BLENDS
BLENDS seeks to celebrate and educate on Black & Latino culture, empower members by creating professional development programs, offer educational resources, and engage with the community in diversity initiatives.
2024 Highlights
- Organized a bus trip featuring a Harlem Renaissance tour, a gospel concert, and a visit to the 166th Street Festival to provide 43 attendees with an immersive connection to Black and Latino history and culture.
- Engaged employees in thought-provoking discussions on Black and Latino experiences during book club on books like Don’t Call Me White Girl and Just Mercy.
- Held Hispanic Heritage Month dance lessons culminating in a Latin social event in partnership with Evolve, bringing together 25 participants to celebrate culture and learn new skills.


Evolve
The mission of Evolve is to promote physical and social wellness by educating, motivating, and connecting employees.
We are committed to empowering employees with resources to help them become the best versions of themselves.
2024 Highlights
- Partnered with Build Jake’s Place to organize volunteer events that engaged 50 employees for nearly 170 volunteer hours.
- During Physical Wellness Month, engaged 430 employees in activities including National Walking Day, Step Up to Support, and the inaugural Evolve Hikes event.
- Hosted the Max Fitness Program, which was held weekly, with 96 participants across multiple Subaru locations and access to a customized video library of workout content.
- Partnered with SARGE as part of Evolve Makes to donate 215 handcrafted winter items to Stand Down of South Jersey to support veterans experiencing homelessness, contributing over 350 volunteer hours.


Out + Ally
Out + Ally creates a network of LGBTQ+ employees and straight allies that strives to establish community, support, and resources for LGBTQ+ employees at Subaru of America to create a stronger workplace and a more engaged customer base.
2024 Highlights
- Hosted a series of Pride Month events, a community youth engagement program with LUCY Outreach, community pride parades, and a Philadelphia Union Pride Night, engaging over 200 participants.
- Partnered with Evolve Makes for the Field Team Rock Painting Initiative, distributing supplies and Pride swag to all five Subaru offices, reinforcing visibility and allyship.
- Participated in learning sessions with PFLAG, covering topics like showing support and acceptance during someone’s coming out journey.


SARGE
SARGE focuses on outreach and support for the veteran community within Subaru and in the local places we work and live. They teach those that follow us respect for those that have served. The group also seeks to continuously improve accessibility at SOA for those that have served our country. It is committed to advocating for the rights of veterans to educate and nurture awareness of the strengths they bring to the SOA community. We celebrate veterans and support the national holidays of Memorial Day, July 4th, and Veterans Day.
2024 Highlights
- Collaborated with Evolve Makes and the Customer Advocacy Department (CAD) to donate hats, beanies, and emergency kits to Stand Down of South Jersey, with 28 Subaru employees actively participating.
- Partnered with the National Park Foundation, aligning with Subaru Loves the Earth, to restore Plum Run Valley at Gettysburg National Military Park, engaging 58 employees in conservation efforts.
- Hosted Captain Kate Higgins-Bloom from the U.S. Coast Guard during Women’s History Month, who shared her experiences as a female leader in the military in a joint event with the Subaru Women’s Network.
- SARGE received engagement in their 2024 events and initiatives from employees in multiple zones including, but not limited to, the Dallas Zone, Denver Zone and Portland Zone.


Subaru Women’s Network
The Subaru Women’s Network (SWN) is a diverse group with the common goal of effecting positive change at Subaru and within the community. We exist to provide an opportunity for growth through education, networking, mentoring, and shaping policies to support all employees in our organization. We believe that workplace practices that benefit women will benefit all employees, stakeholders, and the company’s success.
2024 Highlights
- In partnership with I Support the Girls, assembled 1,400 hygiene packs and donated 8,400 pads and 7,000 tampons to provide essential care for women in need.
- Organized a virtual panel discussion featuring Subaru’s first-ever all-female district management team, engaging 86 attendees in an inspiring conversation about career growth in the automotive industry.
- Led regional participation in Walk in Her Shoes and the Breast Cancer Walk, uniting employees in advocacy for women’s health and well-being.
- Collaborated with all other ERGs in events focused on education, volunteering, physical wellness, and professional development.
